Awards Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize
Since the award’s inception, the British Columbia Library Association has been proud to sponsor the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize. The Egoff prize is awarded to the author of novels, including chapter books, aimed at juveniles and young adults, as well as non-fiction books for children (including biography) which have not been highly illustrated. The author must be a BC/Yukon resident or have lived in BC or the Yukon for three of the past five years. The book may have been published anywhere.
BCLA provides annual funding in support of the Egoff Prize and the Young Adults and Children’s Services section of BCLA raises additional funds to subsidize the amount provided by BCLA.
