Regional Chapters

LTAIG wants to better represent library technicians and assistants throughout the province.  Library technicians and assistants in more rural or distant regions of BC can feel isolated from each other and from BCLA and LTAIG.  To address this issue, LTAIG encourages the development of regional chapters across BC.

 

This will increase the representation at the provincial level of library support staff in outlying areas.  It will give library technicians and assistants the opportunity to network with colleagues in their region.  Members will be able to plan social and educational events, in addition to regular meetings, in their own communities and regions.

 

There are currently Chapters in the Fraser Valley, Victoria, the Thompson-Okanagan, and Prince George.  The requirement for the establishment of a Chapter is a Chapter Chair and at least one member.
