COMMENTS

The survey committee has endeavored to give as accurate and comprehensive statistics as possible. The response to some of the questions was quite limited in areas such as unemployment statistics and people who worked in the library field for one year or less. However, overall the survey results provide a good overview of the role library support staff maintain in British Columbia libraries today. Out of 185 surveys sent 85 people responded to our questionnaire. This is an approximate 46% response rate. The committee would like to thank (AALT) Alberta Association of Library Technicians and the Vancouver Special Librarians for providing us with information during the research and development of this survey.
