Intellectual Freedom is the right to read, view, hear, express and discuss any idea on any subject. The Committee works to uphold the BCLA Statement on Intellectual Freedom in our libraries through:
- publishing educational materials
- organizing conference sessions and workshops
- organizing and participating in public events to raise awareness of intellectual freedom issues
- supporting librarians, trustees and library staff facing individual challenges

is a web site researched and managed by Dr. Ann Curry for the BCLA Intellectual Freedom Committee. The site was originally designed by SLAIS student Corey Shultz. This comprehensive resource documents materials that have been subject to censorship in British Columbia from 1900 to date.
